Animal Care Specialist - Animal Hospital - (San Antonio, TX)

As Animal Care Specialist in the Animal Hospital, you are responsible for primary care, feeding, and cleaning of animals housed in the Animal Hospital, including animals in quarantine, under medical treatment or emergency care. Your assignments include the cleanliness and proper stocking of treatment rooms, wards, and necropsy room. Essential Duties Prepare diets. Assist in enclosure design and construction. Assist in various laboratory sample procedures. Assist in the up-keep of treatment room. Feed and clean of all animals/enclosures in the Health Center. Assist in non-technical aspects of vet care. Monitor behavior and health of animals in the Health Center. Prepare daily reports and department correspondence. Operate department diagnostic equipment. Prepare medications and dispense as directed. Successfully secure animals in their enclosures and other associated structures. Establish and maintain positive, cooperative, and effective working relations with fellow employees.
