Claims Examiner, Workers Compensation - Temporary - (Pittsburgh, PA)

Description UPMC Health Plan is hiring a temporary Claims Examiner- Workers Compensation to help support the WorkPartners Claims Department for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position. The successful applicant will investigate and analyze the info for a reported workers' compensation claim. Ongoing management of a medical only claim to include compensability determinations (restricted medical only and widow claims at the discretion of the claims supervisor). Provide customer service to injured workers, clients and providers. Responsibilities: Compensability determination for all medical only (restricted only claims at the discretion of supervisor). Contact client or departmental supervisor to discuss work accommodations. Customer service calls with client, injured employee, provider or attorney Evaluate, calculate and assign financial reserves to each claim and monitor ongoing exposure for reserve adjustments.
