Foundry Engineer - (Mt Vernon, OH)

DESCRIPTION: This position is 1 of the primary liaisons between the Company's manufacturing processes, the foundries and the pattern shops. This is a technical resource that identifies quality gaps and continuous improvement initiatives, in the internal or external manufacturing processes, and drives the solutions to reduce gaps. This role also responds to quality issues as they occur, ensuring communications back to foundries and pattern shops and initiating the non-conformance follow-up. Additionally, this role provides research and recommendations for new foundry and pattern shop suppliers from a technical aspect. RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates and follows-up with appropriate foundries on non-conformance issues found and initially documented by internal manufacturing processes. Inspects supplied parts, typically on scrap walks, to determine type of failure and analyzes cause of failure. If appropriate, uses available test equipment and analysis methods for assessment.
