Community Outreach and Education Specialist: The Pierce County Noxious Weed Control Board is accepting employment applications January 11th through January 25th. The term 'Noxious Weed' is a traditional, legal title assigned to certain nonnative plants. Noxious weeds cause damage to our natural and agricultural lands, human and animal health, natural resources, and the economy. WHAT DOES THE COUNTY NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL PROGRAM DO? We work with all county landowners, both public and private, to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of invasive noxious weeds on our community. Since many people are unfamiliar with noxious weeds and the problems they cause, we provide training workshops, informational brochures and field guides, education booth at community fairs and events, and on-site consultations.
