The founding Chair will provide academic leadership for the new Department of Psychiatry and will expand and build collaborative relationships and grow innovative programs within the School of Medicine and the Division of Health Affairs. Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs/Dean of the School of Medicine, the founding Chair will work collaboratively with other UTRGV schools/colleges to develop interdisciplinary opportunities for teaching and research that will help address the unique health care priorities for the region.
