Hiring will occur in the Police Officer position title code series, incumbents will be hired as a: Police Officer Entry Level or Police Officer Lateral The hiring authority will determine the initial position title based on the requirements of the selected applicant. Under the direction of a Police Sergeant, a Police Officer Entry Level is an apprentice level specification in which incumbents have graduated from a California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Certified Basic Academy training program, but have not received a P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate.
