Physician - Chief of Medicine - (Bath, NY)

The incumbent of this position will work under the Chief of Staff at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY. The duties include, but are not limited to the following: Interprets the needs of the Network and institution, develops participation in issue solving, obtains buy-in, and optimizes the practice of care. Serves as the contact for affiliates and maintains responsibilities for developing and maintaining partnership in education and research. Takes an active role as a member of the Local Leadership Council, serving as a resource and an impartial participant. Serves as a Veteran advocate for quality of medical care, patient rights, and confidentiality. When necessary, recommends appropriate programmatic changes and responses to issues of patient complaints. Ensures the Medical Staff maintains the appropriate competency levels by promoting educational programs.May serve as the facility Medical Review Officer.
