Research Scientist - (Charlottesville, VA)

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia is seeking a Research Scientist to work in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Engel, incoming Director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The successful applicant will serve as leader of day-to-day laboratory operations, provide scientific and technical guidance on experimental design, conduct and interpretation and also perform studies needed to advance the missions of our research program. This is a leadership position within the Engel lab, and the successful applicant will serve as the principle investigator's scientific partner. They should possess strong management expertise to enable the administrative, regulatory and operational needs of the lab. They should also possess strong verbal and writing expertise to facilitate our training mission and to contribute to preparation of research proposals and manuscripts.
