Research Associate of Neuroscience - (Charlottesville, VA)

The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Associate/Postdoctoral Fellow to work on neuron-immune interactions in the context of perinatal brain injury with and without maternal immune activation. The position is in the laboratory of Dr. Chia-Yi Kuan, within the Center for Brain Immunology and Glia. The Center for Brain Immunology and Glia is highly collaborative with state of the art shared equipment (https://med.virginia.edu/big/). Research topics studied include brain infections and injury, multiple sclerosis, and autism. The University of Virginia is located in picturesque and historical Charlottesville, with outstanding schools, affordable housing, and is less than 2 hours from Washington, DC, and only an hour away from Richmond, VA. Postdoctoral employment is temporary and is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within the previous 5 years1 and who will be involved in full time research or scholarship at the University.
