Laboratory Medical Assistant Salary Grade: 111 Location: Franklin TN FT/PT Status: Regular Full-time Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 40 Responsibilities / Required functions: The Laboratory Medical Assistant is responsible for the collection of patient specimens for laboratory testing. This is executed by following proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids and hazardous chemicals, properly recording lab testing, quality control and assurance, assisting physicians with procedures and exams as requested, maintaining appropriate inventory levels of reagents and supplies. Demonstrates expertise to perform clean venipunctures. Demonstrates expertise to perform capillary collections. Follows proper guidelines for safe handling of blood, body fluids and hazardous chemicals. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and practices Demonstrates knowledge of ongoing quality assurance activities in the office and documents breaches of quality as they occur.
