Visiting Assistant Professor of Politics - (Lewiston, ME)

The Department of Politics at Bates College invites applications for a one-year visiting position focusing on International Political Economy starting in the fall of 2019. The position may be renewed for an additional year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. completed or nearly complete. We are open to and encourage a variety of methodological approaches and paths to scholarly excellence. Faculty members teach 5 courses per year (usually 2 courses per semester and 1 course during a five-week spring “short-term”) as well as advise individual senior theses. This position would require introductory and intermediate courses in international political economy as well as advanced seminars in that field. Candidates should show a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, to scholarly research, and to the adoption of inclusive pedagogies.
