Position title: Security Officer (Step 1) Job Code: ES20191501-29622 Location: Kekaha, HI Job description: Performs armed security duties primarily in the form of installation gate access and mobile and walking patrols. In concert with U.S. Navy and Department of the Navy Civilian Security Officers, protects persons and property associated with the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF). Major job activities: Controls persons and vehicles entering and exiting PMRF through verification of proper access media. Also controls persons and vehicles entering and exiting designated controlled areas within PMRF. Conducts mobile and walking patrols to prevent unauthorized PMRF entry, check building security, identify safety issues, and protect PMRF assets. Remains vigilant to suspicious activity, to include potential terrorist acts. Applies appropriate use of force, to include deadly force, to protect others and enforce general law and order. Responds to incidents as required.
