Associate Buyer - (Durham, NC)

Associate Buyer Location: Durham, NC SUMMARY Reporting to Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager the Associate Buyer, purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Works with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. * Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor details. * Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions. * Coordinates purchasing activities with service, manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. * Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
