Purpose and Scope Under the supervision of the Sourcing Manager the Buyer shall administer the centralized procurement functions of the school system, which includes formal bidding and procurement methods. Evaluates and performs analysis on data, and formulates data to include Capital, Technology and Academic Sourcing Services functions of organization. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice. Essential Job FunctionsAdministers the assignment of bids and/or specification development, reviews and approves formal bids specifications and contract drafts prepared by designated professional staffOrganizes the preparation of the exhibit of contract recommendations and statistical data of vendor participation.Prepares designs, evaluates and issues bid specifications; conducts pre-bid meetings and bid openings, and confers with school administrators and office heads to prepare contract documents for designated specifications.Conducts research to support construction products
