Mental Health Specialist III - (Anchorage, AK)

The MHS III is responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorder, ensuring the well-being of the patients. The MHS III is also responsible for providing leadership and direction to MHS I and MHS II staff based upon experience and special training in the various areas of mental health service delivery (i.e. group therapy, milieu management, diagnostic based training, grief and loss, etc.) Because the purpose of the MHS III is to provide leadership and training in the provision of care, there are a limited number of positions available and the position is awarded based on special application. The MHS III will work cooperatively under the Unit Nurse and if the situation arises, the MHS III/CT. Additionally, The MHS III: Assumes a leadership role in the organization by leading the MHS staff, coordinating MHS assignments with the Unit Nurse, role models appropriate communication with other teammates.
