The Kansas City Business Journals specials editor oversees a range of programs that bring attention to the areas leading companies and executives : attention that informs the business community of rising players and best practices, that identifies storylines and new sources for our newsroom, and that builds powerful networks in our region. The position plays a leading role in structuring programs; soliciting nominations/applications; selecting judging panels; and planning, assigning, reporting and editing special editorial sections. This position isnt all about planning. The specials editor plays a big part in writing for our special sections and participates in the daily flow of the newsroom by providing coverage of the residential real estate beat.
