Pharmacy Technician - (Washington, DC)

General Summary of Position: * Assists the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications to patients. Performs designated technical functions to facilitate pharmacy operations. Education: * High-school diploma or GED diploma is required. Requires expertise to read and write, knowledge of grammar, medical terminology, and proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals, and keyboard skills. Background: * At least 6 months of retail or hospital background or a diploma from an approved pharmacy technician training program. Certification/Registration/Licensure: * Certification as a pharmacy technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and in addition must be registered with the District of Columbia's Department of Health.
