Sr. scientist, biocompatibility/toxicology (medical device) - (Memphis, TN)

Location: Memphis, TN Position summary Summary This position is responsible for working in a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers and serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on biocompatibility. The applicant will provide guidance for early phase evaluations, new product development, and legacy projects on Biocompatibility testing requirements based on US and international standards and guidance documents. The applicant will be responsible for conducting biocompatibility/risk assessments, literature reviews, writing protocols and summary reports for the various Smith & Nephew Inc. medical device products in support of product development and regulatory submissions. The applicant must have medical device industry working background; have in-depth understanding of engineering and scientific principles, materials, manufacturing processes, biocompatibility standards, and sterilization methods. The applicant is expected to manage projects of moderate complexity and impact with minimal guidance.
