Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice - (Winfield, KS)

Southwestern College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice with the expertise to teach courses in Sociology. Applicants must have a doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or Sociology (or related position). ABD will not be considered. A J.D. alone is not sufficient for this position, but a J.D. with a PhD will receive serious consideration. Assignments include: teaching up to 4 courses per semester with an active research and outreach agenda; advise students who are preparing for careers in legal fields; conduct scholarly work; and participate in institutional committees. Areas of specialization for teaching will include: criminal justice, criminal law, criminology, legal studies, legal writing, and sociology. This is not a tenure-track position but has potential to become one. Review of applications will begin January 31, 2019 and will continue until a applicant is selected.
