Associate Director of Bands/Director of Athletic Bands - (Columbia, SC)

The University of South Carolina is seeking candidates for Associate Director of Bands/Director of Athletic Bands, to begin July 1, 2019. This position is tenure-track, 11-month, with rank and salary negotiable. Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Bands in a team environment with the administration, recruitment and continued development of a comprehensive University band program. Direct the USC Marching Band; conduct the USC Symphonic Winds; direct 1 of two basketball bands and coordinate all pep bands for basketball and volleyball; engage in scholarly and/or creative research activities; participate in faculty service activities and committee work; oversee the organization and operation of the USC Summer Band Clinics. Additional teaching responsibilities as determined by requirements, preference, and institutional needs. Requirements: An earned doctorate (or ABD) is preferred but candidates with master's degrees and significant teaching and performance background may be considered.
