Underwriter - Consumer Loans - (Medford, NY)

As a consumer loan underwriter you will all be responsible for reviewing Internet and branch originated consumer loans at Suffolk Federal Credit Union based on complete and factual info in order to make a credit decision for the company. Responsibilities : Reviews consumer loan applications for accuracy and truthfulness, including in title work, appraisals, signatures and notary work Underwrites consumer loans based on approved lending authority parameters; submits for 2nd review Makes recommendations to decline loans or to defer approval to management or the Management Loan Committee Liaisons with branch staff to assist or resolve loan application problems Requests title and appraisal research from the Loan Officer Assistant Backs up other departmental staff as necessary Achieves a min of "Satisfactory" rating on internal audits and examinations Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members
