Mobile Equipment Mechanic - (Alpena, MI)

PURPOSE Lafarge North America, Alpena Plant is seeking candidates who are qualified for a Mobile Equipment Mechanic position. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Troubleshooting and performing maintenance work on plant mobile equipment and automobiles. * Must possess a basic set of mechanic's hand tools * Responsible for making simple improvements and modifications * Maintains small tools used within department * Expertise to operate light mobile equipment and all heavy mobile equipment used in the Plant * Must be willing and able to work outdoors in inclement weather at times. * Able to work a 2nd shift position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required Education: High-school degree/GED. Additional Education/Background: Certificate or degree in Heavy Equipment Maintenance, prior mobile equipment background, or the equivalent. Automotive vehicle repair background required. Required License: Valid Commercial Driver's License. Required Technical skills: Basic computer knowledge.
