Postdoctoral position to work on insecticide resistance - (Ithaca, NY)
Position details Postdoctoral position to work on the proteomics, transcriptomics and genomics of insecticide resistance A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Professor Jeff Scott at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY, USA), for a highly motivated applicant to study the basis insecticide resistance in Aedes aegypti. The research project, funded by NIH will use proteomic approaches, coupled to genomics and transcriptomics to identify the basis of CYP-mediated resistance. The project aims to 1- quantify the levels of CYP proteins present in susceptible and resistant strains and determine whether the overexpression is genetically linked to resistance, 2- determine if there are any CYP polymorphisms that are genetically linked to resistance, and 3- validate the role of applicant CYPs in resistance. This project is expected to contribute to the basic understanding of evolution, CYP regulation, and insecticide resistance management.
