Job overview Summary Purchases, coordinates, expedites, schedules the flow of materials and assembles between various departments and plants within demanding time schedules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Purchasing: :Competitively quote and purchase machine fabrications and commercial components :Source, visit and select approved fabricators and suppliers, sub assemblers :Expedite purchase orders for timely deliveries :Negotiate discounts, terms and delivery cycles with suppliers :Strategically plan supplier deliveries to meet demanding project schedules :Use the MRP system to effectively order parts and control inventory levels :Research and suggest alternative suppliers to the Engineering Department :Work with the Materials group performing semi:annual inventory counts :Internet sourcing, selection and ordering :Data Entry :Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager Planning/Scheduling: :Work with the manufacturing manager to effectively plan machine delivery cycles
