GREAT DANE TRAILERS, KEWANEE, IL - FORK TRUCK MECHANIC The Fork Truck Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that the facility-s material handling equipment (electric forklifts, electric carts and floor scrubbing equipment) is repaired and maintained in a timely manner. Active participation in safety meetings. Maintains safety work practices as define by Great Dane. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to electronically and computer controlled automated equipment, utility equipment, facilities, etc. Remove, repair and replace motors, pumps, drive unit and brake systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Change tires. Use welding equipment. Complete daily work logs with detailed details on a timely basis. Ensure that work orders and monthly PMs are completed as required. High-school graduate or demonstrated equivalent. three years fork truck repair maintenance (with at least 2 of those years in electric forklift repair/maintenance).
