Surface Scientist Job - (Minneapolis, MN)

Position overview: As part of the Corporate Technology Materials Science group, this role serves all Valspar businesses globally and has most important responsibility to collaborate with the business technical groups to identify problems and opportunities and execute projects to improve the design of surfaces and interfaces to improve functional coating properties and solve problems, such as adhesion, damage and wear resistance, dispersion, corrosion, chemical resistance, appearance, substrate wetting, etc. You will lead the application and development of industry leading methodologies and techniques for characterizing interfaces, surfaces and interfacial phenomena and translating to design guidelines for Valspar's coatings/paints development groups. The role requires strong networking and collaboration skills, project management and acumen to translate scientific insights to practical solutions.
