Public Safety â?? Police Officer - (Fort Valley, GA)

POSITION DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws. This position also requires c ommunity policing that involves 3 key components: developing community partnerships, engaging in issue solving, and implementing community policing activities. MAJOR DUTIES Patrols the campus to preserve safety and security. Interviews witnesses and suspects. Enforces traffic and parking violations. Checks AEDs and fire extinguishers. Arrests person(s) suspected of crimes. Testifies in court as needed. Conducts building inspections for the safety of the campus. Provides jump-offs as requested. Provides directions and info to visitors. Answers calls and complaints involving fire, traffic, accidents, robberies, and other issues; provides necessary response. Ensures students abide by the student code of conduct. Investigates crimes against person(s) and property. Searches for and evaluates evidence. Reviews security camera footage for evidence.
