Physical Biochemistry/Cryo-electron Microscopy (Associate/Full Profess - (Riverside, CA)
Position summary The Department of Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a new academic-year (nine month) faculty position at the tenured level of Associate Professor or Full Professor, in the general area of physical biochemistry, with a particular emphasis in the application of Cryo-Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) to investigate problems of fundamental biological and biomedical importance. The position will build on existing campus strengths in structural biology and related areas of biophysics, including using X-ray crystallography, NMR, and single-molecule methods to study DNA repair, epigenetics, regulation of translation, cell signaling, computational methods appropriate to large datasets, virology, and molecular medicine. The University has committed to providing a new central campus cryo-EM facility and purchasing a "Glacios-class" cryo-EM instrument within the existing Central Facility for Advanced Microscopy and Microanalysis (CFAMM).
