Slitter Helper - (Buffalo, NY)

JOB SUMMARY The Slitter Helper functions as support for the Slitter Operator. This position is responsible for assisting with set up and operation of slitting machines that slit continuous lengths of film into specified widths that meet or exceed customer quality specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with preparing jobs being run on the slitting machines by getting materials in placenext to the slitters to ensure a continuos run. Loads material on machine under the direction of the Slitter Operator. Follows all safety procedures and helps inspect work for quality. Wraps rollstock and readies quality product for shipment. Labels, palletizes and fills out paperwork for custom orders. Completes required documentation accurately and timely. Meets or exceeds prescribed job standard for line speeds, scrap and set-up times. Maintains a clean, safe and food safe work area. Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvement environment.
