Section Chief - Microbiology - (Maryville, TN)

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the technical oversight of their section, and the direct supervision of laboratory personnel in their section. Responsible for the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and quality assurance practices within their respective sections. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and/or background: Education, training and certification required for laboratory licensure by the State of Tennessee is required. The preferred candidate will have min of five years background in the Laboratory and two years of Supervisory background of Microbiology testing. Knowledge: Thorough technical knowledge of their section; must have the scientific and mathematical knowledge required to interpret laboratory findings. Strong knowledge of State, Federal and voluntary accreditation agencies' regulatory qualifications for their section.
