Essential Background: :Background with mechanical / machining buying (castings, forgings, raw materials, molded products, stampings, machining) :Background in a Department of Defense environment a plus. Key functions :Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools :Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers :Works closely with the Vice President of Operations and the Materials Manager to negotiate long-term supply agreements with selected suppliers.
