S UMMARY: The Family Advocate is responsible for assisting Early Head Start families in issue solving and setting and accomplishing family and individual goals through direct service, resources and referrals. This position necessitates an individual who can work unaided, communicate effectively in writing and orally, understand and implement procedures and practices, and demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in their work. ES S EN T I A L D U T I ES A ND RES P O N S I BI L I T I E S : Responsible for recruitment, selection, and enrollment following ERSEA criteria. Provide child development, parent education, social services and health services. Provide support through home visits to families of infants and toddlers and expectant mothers. Implement a comprehensive program of social service assistance to center-based children and families. Coordinate implementation of volunteer program.
