Buyer requires: Supply management Buyer Material planning Buyer duties: Release purchase orders to meet production schedules Monitor order status and expedite orders as needed to ensure customer request date attainment Prepare reports on key metrics Maintain supplier relationship Review and analyze supplier metric Evaluate supplier performance and create improvement plans, to mitigate business risk Understand production schedule qualifications and perform material planning review Identify and address scheduling/supply exceptions Work with suppliers and internal teammates (such as QA, Engineering, Production and Sales/ Customer Support to resolve issues and ensure schedule compliance Participates production meetings with other functional groups within Operations to discuss.
