Description About Opportunities Academy Opportunities Academy is a program dedicated to serving 18-22yr old students with significant disabilities. Currently in New Orleans, there is a need for accessible college programming that pushes independence and exploration of passion, and builds computer skills for students with significant disabilities in the same way we expect college and career training programs do for our students exiting high-school with typical high-school diplomas. Once high-school students with significant disabilities have completed their high-school academic requirements, there are limited options for students to pursue post-secondary education. Opportunities Academy (OA) aims to fill that gap. OA seeks to build pathways and program sites that support both rigor and choice in diverse settings to reach its ultimate mission: to equip all students with the passion and tools to be productive and world-changing members of their community.
