Fire Engineer - (Valley Center, CA)

- FIRE ENGINEER - The Valley Center Fire Protection District is recruiting and testing to establish a list of applicants who are qualified for the position of Fire Engineer. The Valley Center Fire Protection District is 87 square miles with a population of approx 20,000. The District is a rural suburban area located in North San Diego County California. The District contains heavy wildland urban interface areas with rugged terrain consisting of a main valley floor with hillsides and steep canyons. The fire department responds to 1,800 calls for service a year. The District is governed by a five member Board of Directors elected at large from the community. Currently, fire and emergency services are provided by 6 full time Captains, 6 full time Engineers and twenty-four (24) part time Firefighters. Paramedic services are provided through a public-private partnership with Mercy Ambulance.
