Iron Workers Local 584 Apprenticeship will be accepting applications for on the job training positions in the steel erection industry. We anticipate fifteen available positions in 2019. As an Apprentice Ironworker you will train to become a Journeyman. You'll assist Journeymen in their duties or work at tasks alone under the supervision of Journeymen. The Ironworkers Apprenticeship Program includes 3yrs of reasonably continuous employment in an approved schedule, as well as 634 hours of related instruction. Each Apprentice will be required to attend classes in related supplemental instruction for a min of 212 hours per year. Apprentice earnings are based on a percentage of a Journeyman s wage and increases as you advance through the program with demonstrated knowledge and expertise. There are seven periods that each Apprentice must work through before becoming a Journeyman Ironworker.
