Health Info Management Tech I - Customer Service (on-call, FF) - (Fairfield, CA)

Position description: Works under the supervision of the Supervisor of Health Info Management (HIM). Follows established department procedures related to document imaging for NorthBay Healthcare on health records. Provides support to clinical areas by providing complete and accurate medical records for patient care and hospital operations. Monitors transcription printer and queues regarding dictated reports. Fulfills basic release of details services. Answers phones and assists the public, physicians and other departments. Completes and reports birth info to the Department of Health as assigned. Assists in preparing department/organizational materials using Microsoft products. Education: 1. High-school graduate or equivalent. 2. Successful completion of NorthBay intranet web-based McStrategies Medical Terminology lessons within the department introductory period.
