CNC Machinist - 2nd or 3rd Shift - (Mapleton, IL)

As a CNC Machinist at Caterpillar, Inc., you will operate, set up and adjust automatic lathes to perform various combinations of machining operations on miscellaneous parts. Position assignments/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Manually operate vertical turret lathes - Previous CNC background - Executing machining operations on N/C lathes to perform complex combinations of machine of machining operations or limited combination of machining operations close to tolerance. - Adjusts single spindle automatic cutoff machines to perform cutoff and/or chamfer operations on barstock, tubing, ect. - Applying safe working methods Basic qualifications: - Previous machine shop background Top applicants will also have: - Technical school or equal educational background in mechanical or similar discipline
