General Mechanic - (Lynnwood, WA)

The Edmonds School District is now hiring for a full-time General Mechanic! This position is assigned to the Transportation Department, located in Lynnwood, Washington. The General Mechanic diagnoses mechanical problems and performs journeyman level work in the repair, installation, alteration, service and maintenance of buses or related equipment requiring knowledge and background in servicing a wide variety of vehicles. The General Mechanic performs repairs on heavy and light duty vehicles including both diesel and gasoline engines, drive train components including transmission and rear ends, air and hydraulic brake systems, and electrical and suspension systems. The General Mechanic performs preventative maintenance on various vehicles including the inspection of belts, exhaust systems, coolant systems, and fuel systems; inspects and changes fluids; inspects air and hydraulic brake systems for leaks and defects and makes adjustments as necessary; and inspects the condition of tires, suspension
