BT-1550 Software Safety Engineering Specialist - (Huntsville, AL)

Position summary Position overview: The Software System Safety Engineer identifies and eliminates safety hazards associated with all development activities throughout the entire program/product life cycle in support of NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) development effort at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The Software System Safety Engineer will perform review and analysis of engineering design concepts; investigate and analyze relevant engineering data potentially affecting safe operation of the product and its processes; Analyzes planning documents and develops S/W safety engineering approaches to meet customer, NASA, and other applicable qualifications. Background in performing complex Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Hazard Assessments (HAs) is highly desirable.
