A most important role of University Medicine Compliance is to develop and maintain hospital and clinic compliance programs for the clinical enterprises of University Medicine including: Harborview Medical Center, University Medical Center, Northwest Hospital and Medical Center, Valley Medical Center, University Neighborhood Clinics, Airlift Northwest, University Physicians and the University School of Medicine. Specifically, University Medicine Compliance covers hospital and professional fee billing and documentation; privacy; identity theft prevention; EMTALA and other areas of institutional compliance within the clinical enterprise. University Medicine Compliance also collaborates with other designated university offices including Internal Audit, Risk Management, Business Affairs, and Research to prevent, detect and respond to issues involving additional regulatory areas
