Job summary***Position is based in Antarctica*** GENERAL DUTIES (not all inclusive): • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.• Operates to the best possible standards providing uninterrupted operation.• Monitors wastewater plant systems, ancillary equipment and the chemical composition of the influent, effluent and internal process streams; makes necessary adjustments to ensure operation is within established guidelines.• Responds to unscheduled equipment or process failures.• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications on all systems including belt press, blowers, pumps, valves and piping.• Collects and analyzes raw waste, performs chemical, biological and physical analysis and maintains a good knowledge of the composition of the influent
