Purchasing Agent - (Salt Lake City, UT)

Purchasing agents are responsible for the sourcing of raw materials and services needed to support all operations. In addition to procuring current product, the purchasing agent will develop vendors and identify new and innovative sources for new product launches. This position offers the opportunity to work with such organizations as Aid to Artisans to help artisans in developing countries establish themselves and have their products exposed to a global audience. This is a high-visibility position that will involve coordination with inside sales, material handling, marketing/design, accounting, and operations. Position qualifications: - Assist with special projects as required. These will be focused on major supply chain and company initiatives such as web-based procurement, lead time reduction, the path to zero waste, on time delivery, and quality. - Monitor cost and track savings - Verify supplier invoices for accuracy
