Advanced Sonographer OB/GYN GENERAL SUMMARY The Advanced Sonographer for Ob/Gyn in the Perinatology department obtains ultrasound pictures of the pregnant patient as part of the detailed fetal anatomic survey, 1st trimester and nuchal translucency screening, biophysical profile, and other Obstetric and Gynecologic imaging modalities according to physicians' specifications. Serves as Preceptor for new staff and rotating sonography students, residents, and fellows. The unit follows AIUM guidelines for screening and unit maintenance. MIN QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Associate's degree or 1 to 3 years formal training in an AMA approved ultrasound training program is required. Meets criteria of Professional Practices, Clinical Practices, Leadership, and Quality Improvement as stated by Career Ladder Standard Advanced Standard. Presently holds Career Ladder position of Clinical Sonographer I or equivalent. RVT Certification preferred. PRIOR BACKGROUND: Approx 3 to 4 years of job related skills.
