Volunteer Driver General Responsibilities: Safely operate a passenger transportation vehicle Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as instructed by the Safety & Training Coordinator per Via's Standard Operating Procedures Possess a functional knowledge of the geographies of the service areas Maintain a good rapport with the general public and passengers Provide door-through-door assistance and appropriately perform safety precautions with all passengers Review schedule prior to leaving base to clarify any schedule, client, route, address or special need(s) info Possess mapping skills as required for the position Physical Functions: Use full range of sense of hearing Use full range of speech Use full range of sense of vision Walk while performing vehicle inspections and assisting passengers and the public Write reports in a coherent, legible manner Other Functions: Relationships include interaction with the general public at all levels, handling complaints
