Apple Buyer - (Williamson, NY)

Reporting to the Manager of Field Operations, this role will be responsible for the field purchases, blending, storage and movement of apples for the production of apple related products for the DPSG Williamson plant. Accountabilities: * Procurement o Procure peeler grade, TR juice, and juice apples to support production qualifications o Conduct market and competitive analysis and implement strategies and tactics which mitigate risk and position DPSG brands to win o Provide input for the development of apple contracts and pricing o Input contracts in system and maintain master data settings as necessary o Negotiate and secure storage and freight o Assist with the apple budget process o Provide apple market and crop updates to management team o Work with Packing Sheds throughout the season to procure culls as needed to support the business o Secure organic supply for DPSG Organic Programs understand the organic market, growing practices
