Residential Youth Counselor (Overnight Shift) - (Parkville, MD)

Position overview The Youth Life Educator (YLE) is a Residential Youth Counselor who works in our group homes for troubled youth. The perfect candidate is responsible for overseeing youth behavior and reporting activity to the Supervisor. Our YLE supports and mentors residents to complete life tasks, transports residents to scheduled appointments, prepares meals, and carries out light housework duties. The YLE is also in charge of providing emotional support, encouragement to residents and ensures that all youth take proper medication. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Involve all students in the development of positive work habits Place appropriate emphasis on developing socialization and communication abilities Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with students Execute educational plans as designed for each student Ensure that medical and dental needs are met for each student Ensure students needs have been met for clothing and maintaining good personal hygiene Present and monitor students
