SUMMARY: The sales representative acts as an intermediary between insurance companies and commercial customer insurance buyers. They advise customers on the insurance policies that best suit their customers needs. The representative may specialize in 1 type of insurance coverage, such as (health), Commercial property, (life) auto or Workers Compensation, or they may be well versed in several forms of Commercial insurance coverage. The representative must obtain/maintain a valid Property and Casualty Insurance license in the state of operation and meet all insurance department qualifications such as continuing-ed, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prospecting, cold calling, networking and other means of client development for purposes of building a client pipeline and book of business. Receive and act on referrals from other lines of business within the bank as well as generate referrals back to those lines of business. Negotiate coverage pricing and conditions to meet client needs.
