General Description and Classification Standards Protects life and property by enforcing all City statutes, ordinances and the laws and regulations of the state for which the Police Department is accountable. Duties and assignments include, but are not limited to: patrolling City streets and businesses to ensure security; assisting fellow offices and with interdepartmental duties and City activities; responding to the needs of the general public by performing rescues, giving details and direction, mediating disputes and deterring criminal activity within the community; compiling reports, preparing for cases for trials and appearing in court; and maintaining and updating records for proper documentation. Supervision Received Works under very general supervision. May work autonomously or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.
