Senior Staff Accountant - (Santa Monica, CA)

Vaco is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a reputable company in the Santa Monica area. The duties of this position will include day-to-day accounting operations, coordinating month-end closing activities, general ledger review, reconciliations, and researching technical accounting matters. This role will alsooversee maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed assets module, and assist in the development of accounting procedures by recommending improvements or changes for greater efficiency through direct intervention or supervision. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial details Supports budget and forecasting activities. Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high-level of accuracy.
